If you live in one of the five boroughs of NYC, please ask your Council Member to support intro 86, which would replace horse-drawn carriages with electric antique cars. As a constituent, you can also ask for an in-person meeting where you can show clips from BLINDERS to the Council Member and/or the staff.
You can also contact City Council Speaker Christine Quinn who has blocked all of the bills introduced that would ban or phase out horse-drawn carriages. Instead, she forced a bill through the City Council that gave carriage operators a rate hike.
Encourage your Council Member to sign on to the bill that would replace horse-drawn carriages with electric antique cars.
If you live outside of NYC, please contact Mayor Michael Bloomberg
